Perfectionism is a big problem in the cleaning industry. It took me over 15 minutes to say it in the podcast. It's really not that complex. Perfection is working hard to make YOU as happy as possible and you may never get there. Excellence is working hard to make THE CUSTOMER as happy as possible and you absolutely can get there.
How do you know if you've made them as happy as possible? You ask them how you've done. I consult with cleaning company owners all over the country and so many struggle with perfectionism. It cost them time, which equals money and profit. I believe that Perfectionism and Excellence are on opposite sides of the same spectrum. You've got to work to the best that you can. but doing it with excellence is different than doing it with perfection. Your customer will feel the difference and so will your bank account!
